Life in the isolation
Jankovichová, Ludmila ; Fabián, Ondřej (referee) ; Kristek, Jan (advisor)
The answer to what Zaježová is, can be simple. Zaježová are so called „lazy“. Zaježová is perceived by the outside world - society - primarily as an alternative community of people living in coexistence with nature, and “Zaježová” presents itself “in this way”. Personally, I think that Zaježová is defined mainly by the strong individualities of people who are able to say about themselves and present that they live in a community. Last but not least, Zaježová is a place where I spent a large part of my childhood, because my parents belonged to these strong individuals and decided to live life “alone”. My work tries to capture what Zaježová is through various media, including architecture. The output is a set of atypical tourist maps and a proposal to transform the former fire station into a gallery.

Maděra, Jonáš ; Farmačka, Petr (referee) ; Mráček, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on describing the reality of the tracked family business, finding, defining and formulating the mistakes and shortcomings, which are happening during the practice, and revealing its weaknesses. It presents the craft of upholstery as a specific area and an unusual subject of business, it shows its complexity and “unclassifiability”, and the impact of this uniqueness on its prosperity. The reality is (where appropriate) compared with the obtained theoretical knowledge. The thesis involves identification of the problems and it proposes their solutions, in order to achieve the revitalisation and innovation of the monitored enterprise.
Between Context and Craft
Kocmanová, Martina ; Velčovský, Maxim (referee) ; Klímová, Barbora (advisor)
The main topic of my work is question of craft in the connection with contemporary fine arts. The implementation of the work is based an open workshop for students of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno inside the building of the faculty in Údolní under the name DÍLNA MARTINY pro FaVU. In this place, I organize workshops of techniques , which I acquired during my past studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. I try to pass on the experience with techniques, which I used for creation of my own works to my schoolmates. Because there is no official workshop in the Faculty of Fine Arts, DÍLNA is my critical response to the functionning of the school at the same time. I notice which studios are the students attending the workshops from. The process of the creation, preparation and course of the workshops as well as the interaction are important part of the project. I spread the information about workshops through the whole school by posters and by our studio´s internet website. Like this, I create a mental space for discussion. I review the problems of the craft from the other side, from the side of the artist, who teaches and creates matrix for new art pieces and ideas instead of creation of my own material work. The outcome of the work is the whole process – a school inside the school. It is a processual project of which author´s documentation and installation is the final outcome.

Hranice – redefinition of urban structure
Mokrá, Lucie ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
Hranice na Moravě is Middletown, which is situated in the middle of protected natural territory. Because surrounded area of the town is consisting of smaller villages, we can find Hranice as local important catchment point of region, what means local centre of business and services, culture and education and work opportunities as well. However, this prediction is not real. Even though there are several equipment’s of education, witch product new graduates and potential residents of Hranice every year as well, there is deurbanisation and social and cultural decline because of low diversity of labour market and bad urbanistic strategy of development. In my project I design Centre of Craft. This Centre is reaction on nowaday‘s issues of low level quality of Crafts in Czech Republic and anachronistic bad general opinion about craftsmanship. Centre of Craft constitutes opportunities for students and graduates of local secondary schools with craft‘s subjects, for small tradesmen as start-up and for public as public workshop as well.
Golden Czech hands- or craftsmanship has a golden bottom
Mateová, Klára ; Vala, Petr (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the project is to point out the necessary support for studying craft trades and the motivation to continue later in professional life. I am trying to achieve that through the medium of architecture which is important in the perception of the space in which students, graduates and the whole of society operate.
Professional and Laic Conception of Creating
Řehořová, Anna ; Kafková, Helena (advisor) ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the concept of creation between lay and professional craftsmen. The key focus is to find and compare how they perceive the concept of craft, craftsman, professional and layman. The theoretical part focuses on the explanation of concepts, the history of craft, its decline, but also how folk craft is perceived nowadays. The developmental stages of the child and his drawings are outlined, as well as position of craft in education. The practical part is processed using the qualitative method of interviews. Six interviews were conducted. Three with professional craftsmen and three with laymen. After all the interviews, they were subsequently transcribed and analyzed using open coding. Codes were put into groups and compared with each other. The results of the analysis indicates different conception of craft between a group of professionals and laymen, which is discussed in more detail at the end of the practical part.
